Bogoso (W/R), Dec 16, GNA- The Bogoso Parish Priest of the Roman Catholic Church, Rev. father Charles Fuakye, has advised parents to eschew flamboyant lifestyles and invest in the education of their children.

Fuakye was speaking at a special school harvest in aid of a school block at the St. Monica’s catholic primary school at Bogoso. The Rev Fuakye, who is also the local manager of Bogoso Roman Catholic schools expressed disappointment at the failure of invited guests, mostly parents to attend the school’s special Harvest. He said the education, spiritual and physical needs of every child depend to a large extent on parents.

The Rev Fuakye lambasted parents who spend huge sums of money on funerals and expensive clothing’s among others to the detriment of their children’s education. He urged parents to complement government’s efforts in the implementation of the capitation grant by sending their wards to school. The Headmaster of St. Monica’s Catholic Primary School, Vincent Kofi Adjei Abutiate, was not happy that the school lacked the necessary infrastructure despite the number of prominent people who have passed through the school. He said the introduction of the Capitation Grant has increased enrolment into the schools and that there was the need to add more classrooms to cater for the increase. The chairman for the occasion, Pastor Bismark Ntim, urged parents to take absolute control over the welfare of their children.
