Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the Secretary to the National Vetting Committee (NVC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed that the decision by the committee to throw out a petition that sought to disqualify Paul Afoko from contesting the Chairmanship of the party was not based on any “Interpol report”.
“…what I do know is that, in the name of the NPP, the Vetting Committee made a request to the Interpol. No matter the outcome of that information, certain response is expected from Interpol, officially. Whether it is negative, it is positive or even if it would not be granted, some correspondent must come (from Interpol)”.

Mr. Adjei Korsah’s disclosure comes on the heels of reports that the NPP’s NVC has given the National Chairman aspirant the green light to contest the position.
Mr. Afoko’s bid was held in abeyance after one David Gyasi petitioned the committee accusing Afoko of being an ex-convict in the United Kingdom.
It was, however, widely report that a comprehensive report by the UK court has confirmed that Afoko was never arrested or imprisoned as alleged, but the Secretary to the NPP Vetting Committee says no information of that sort has come to the attention of the committee.
“…we have not officially received any such report,” he insisted.
