In a statement, the sector minister, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, explained that the day has been set aside to mark Farmers’ Day, which is commemorated each year on the first Friday of December.

Farmers’ Day honours the vital role played by farmers and fishers in supporting national development, strengthening food security, and contributing to the country’s economy.
