Suhyen (E/R), Nov. 10, GNA – The Minister of the Interior, Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang has observed that the December 7 polls, would be a choice between the development policy of the Kufuor administration and the retrogression the country suffered under the eight years administration of the National Democratic Congress.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP), would continue with its accelerated development and also ensure that the security of the nation and its citizens was maintained during, before and after the polls. Mr Owusu-Agyemang, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, was addressing a political rally at Suhyen, near Koforidua. He asked the people consider the massive socio-economic development projects of the NPP and vote massively for the party in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
He announced that the government would make basic education free under the new education reforms.
Mr Owusu-Agyemang launched a booklet on “Eight years of Positive Change” at the rally, which listed about 30 development projects he had executed as an MP.
The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Adjei Boateng said Kufuor’s administration had transformed the Municipality from a village to a capital city.
” With only four years, the area has now assumed its position as a true regional capital with massive development projects to show.” Nana Boateng described Election 2004 as a day of accountability for the NPP and expressed the hope that the electorate would renew the mandate of the party.
The Constituency Women Organiser of the NPP, Madam Comfort Asante described the Kufuor administration as the “most caring for women and children” and urged women to rally behind the party to promote their interest.
