Interim-management at Ghana Airways

Accra, June 30 A three-man interim team will run the national carrier, Ghana Airways, until a new management team is put in place, Mr Edward Salia, Minister of Roads and Transport said in Accra today.

He said the decision has become necessary because the two-year contract between the company and the Speedwing Consultancy would not rpt not be renewed when it ends on July four.

The three-man team has Mr E. L. Quartey Jnr., a board member, as chairman with Mr E.A. Folson, Head of Finance and Captain Paul Forjoe, Head of Flight Operations as members.

Mr Salia, who was addressing staff of the airline, informed them of the end of the Speedwing contract and said negotiations are still underway to acquire two new DC-9 aircraft to replace the one lost in Abidjan early this year.
