Intensify your campaign – NPP foot soldiers urged

Accra, Oct 11, GNA – Mr. Akenten Appiah-Menkah, a leading member of the New Patriotic party (NPP) has made an appeal to foot soldiers of the party to intensify the campaign to ensure victory, come December 2008 general elections.

“The elections should be won to clear doubt and suspicion in the minds of out political opponents”, he stressed. Mr. Appiah-Menkah made the appeal when the National Executive Members of the Danquah-Busia Patriotic Footsoldiers Association (FOSWA) paid a courtesy call to formally introduce the executive members to him.

Mr. Appiah-Menkah who is also an Industrialist urged them to show some sense of decorum in their quest to win votes for the party as elections are fought on exchange of ideas but not through war. Mr Kwabena Dwomoh, National Chairperson of the Association said their primary aim was to see to it that the party was returned to power. He said they have finished the campaign with their “bottom-to-up approach” in Greater Accra Region and the response from the electorate had been encouraging.

Mr Dwomoh said their next campaign programmes will take them to Central, Ashanti and Volta Regions before moving to the three Northern Regions.

Other members of the delegation were Mr Osei Bonsu, Patron, Ernest Amoatey, National Secretary, Sam Sowah Vice Chairperson and Akwei Nelson, Financial Secretary.
