Insults against Otabil unfortunate – Palmer Buckle

Archbishop Charles Palmer Buckle has described as improper and un-Ghanaian, insults hurled at Pastor Mensa Otabil following his news conference at which he described as “evil”, the use of portions of his tapes for political purposes.

The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church told journalists in an angry tone at his news conference that the splicing and manipulation of sermons by people, who he described, as surrogates of the ruling NDC is criminal, Machiavellian, immoral amidst a raft of other adjectives.

Responding to Dr Otabil, the head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation at the Presidency, Dr Tony Aidoo as well as the NDC’s Propaganda Secretary Richard Quashiga described Dr Otabil as a coward.

Archbishop Palmer Buckle in an interview with XYZ News said the reactions to Dr. Otabil’s news conference could have been more moderate.

“The sort of language that is coming out thereafter, the sort of insults that some people are indulging in, I think it’s definitely un-Ghanaian and uncalled for”.

The President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference Most Rev Joseph Osei Bonsu also told XYZ News that the Church is waiting for the President to react before they jump into the fray.
