Inspector General Of Police For Fast Track Court

The Fast Track High Court trying five former state officials for their alleged involvement in the Quality Grain scandal yesterday summoned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ernest Owusu Poku to the court to explain why the order issued by the court on February 11 to the police was not carried out.

Justice Afreh, the presiding judge, gave an order on the aforementioned date upon application by Mr Kweku Baah, counsel for 3rd accused, Kwame Peprah, directing the IGP to allow consultants to visit the project site at Aveyime to assess and write a report.

This, Kwaku Baah argued, will enable them testify at the court on behalf of his client.

The police were also to extend assistance and facilities to those consultants proportional to that of the prosecution when they were also visiting the site.
