Achiase (Ash), Dec 16, GNA- Mr Eric Edwin Owusu, the Asokwa Area Manager of Kuapa Kokoo Limited, has urged cocoa farmers to insist on the payment for their produce with the Akuafo cheques.
Addressing cocoa farmers and marketing clerks at Achiase and Dodowa in the Atwima District he said apart from being safe from armed robbers the cheque system would prevent the use of fake currency notes in payment of cocoa.
He called on the farmers to ensure that all purchases are duly recorded in their passbooks to enable them benefit from incentive packages like the payment of bonus at the end of the season.
Mr Owusu advised the marketing clerks to develop healthy relationships with the farmers who transact business with them in order to win each other’s confidence.
