Indigene donates towards palace renovation

Accra, Sept.23, GNA- Mr. Felix B Ohene-Bediako, a US Based citizen of Jinijini in the Brekum District of Brong Ahafo Region has donated 20 million cedis towards the renovation of the chief’s palace. The donation followed an appeal by Baffour Tutu Asare II, Chief of Jinijini last year during the inauguration of streetlights for Fetentaa about three kilometres away from Jinijini.

Mr Ohene-Bediako, who works with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington DC and president of the Brong Ahafo Citizens Association is also member of the Jinijini Royal family.

Madam Monica Kyerewa, who presented the money on behalf of her husband pledged their continued support to the people in their development efforts.

She expressed the hope that the donation would serve as a morale booster to the youth of Jinijini to initiate more projects to improve the living standards of the people.

Mr. Baffour Tutu Asare, the Akyempimhene of Brekum Traditional Area received the money and expressed his profound gratitude for the gesture. He described the donation as timely, as it had come during the celebration of their annual Kwafie Yam Festival. Mr Baffour Tutu assured the people that the money would be used for the intended purpose and called other patriots to emulate Mr Ohene Bediako.

He appealed to the people to unite to facilitate development and urged the parents to send their wards to school for them to become responsible citizens. 23 Sept. 06
