Indian hemp peddlers in VR shift to MMT

Ho, July 05, GNA – Mr Alex Bedie, the Volta Region Police Commander, has appealed to transport operators in the Volta Region to attach name tags to passengers’ loads to facilitate easy identification of persons who might be travelling with Indian hemp.

He told Journalists in Ho that Indian hemp dealers in the region had resorted to the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) in an effort to sneak their stuff past the Police.

“Most of the miscreants think they can get away with the Metro Mass Transport because it is for the government,” he said.

Mr Bedie said out of seven interceptions of the drug in June,, four were on MMT buses and described the stuff as the main drug problem in the region.
