Indian hemp destroyed following court order

Officials of the Environmental Protection Authority and court officials monitored the destruction of 21 wrappers of Indian hemp with a gross weight of 23.7351g, found on one Kwesi Badu, a 22- year- old metal scrap dealer at Nitsin in Cape Coast.

The substance was burnt in the presence of the Cape Coast Circuit Court’s Registrar, one police officer and a representative of the Environmental Protection Agency as ordered by the court

The convict was brought before the law court following his arrest by the police on December 17, 2010 for possessing 21 wrappers of Indian hemp.

Badu has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for possession for narcotic drugs.**
