Independent broadcasters call on Brong Ahafo Regional Minister

Sunyani, July 16, GNA – Executive members of the Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), on Thursday, paid a courtesy call on Mr Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Regional Minister at his residency in Sunyani.

The executives, led by Mr Yaw Asamoah Mensah, president, were at the residency to officially introduce themselves to the Regional Minister.

Other members are Mr Isaac Ziem, Secretary and Mrs Rosemida Donkor treasurer.

Mr Mensah assured the Regional Minister that the association would not relent in its efforts to expose the abundant and rich cultural heritage in the region to the international community, to attract investors.

He said it had a membership of 21 media practitioners in the region and would work hard to ensure that members discharged their duties in a responsible manner.

Mr Nyamekye-Marfo said government was committed to pursue the Better Ghana Agenda to facilitate economic growth and development and urged the association to lend its support.

He advised the association to promote a cordial working relationship with the Regional Coordinating Council, by crosschecking their facts well on issues concerning the council before putting them into public domain.

“I appreciate and recognize the effective role of the media to national development and my doors are always open for you”, the Regional Minister stated.
