Increase in NSS allowance: Did Mahama err?

While some Ghanaians have voiced out their dissatisfaction over government’s 60% increment of National Service Persons’ allowances, others have commended the initiative and look forward to its implementation by the incoming government (NPP).

According to a section of the public who spoke to Ghanaweb, the directive was laudable and will help cover some expenses like transport, accommodation, food, to mention a few.

However, “those who don’t like it should take that percentage of their salaries and give it back to the government,” an interviewee stated.

Meanwhile, the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the Greater Accra Region have expressed gratitude to the government over the increment in their monthly allowance.
