December 24, 1961- February 3, 2008
Emma was born on December 24, 1961, in Accra, to the late Rev. Solomon Krow and the late Suzanna Otwiwaa Brown. Ruth Emma Akosah, aged 46, died on February 3, 2008, after suffering from a sudden asthma attack. At a tender age Emma’s parents got divorced. She lived with and was nursed by her grandmother, Madam Christiana Appeadua Krow, who survives her. Emma was brought up by the late Mrs. Patience Krow, who was married to her late father the Rev. Solomon Krow.
She attended Ghana International School, Accra, from where she gained admission to Wesley Girls’ Secondary School. After successfully completing her “A” level studies, she left Ghana for the USA, where she stayed with her uncle Charlie. She attended CUNY where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.
Eric and Ruth were members of Household of Faith (now known as Christian Cultural Center). On July 9, 1988, she was married to Mr. Eric Amankwah Kofi Akosah at Household of Faith. Their marriage was blessed with two lovely children, Nancy, and Jonathan Akosah.
Ruth was a faithful member of Christian Cultural Center. She loved the teachings of Pastor A R Bernard and the encouraging words of his wife Elder Karen Bernard who always made her laugh.
Ruth was employed as a Social Worker at Concepts of Independence in New York City until her death. She was joyful and had an infectious hearty laugh. Ruth loved to cook and bake. Two of her favorite dishes were Peanut Butter soup and Lasagna.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Eric Akosah, two lovely children, Nancy aged seventeen, and Jonathan aged four, two sisters, Mrs. Gloria Sylvia Abban and Mary Krow (May), sister-in-laws, Cynthia Akosah, Mrs, Ethel Krow, Mrs. Kenya Krow, Ms. Rose Taylor, Mrs. Doris Asare, seven brothers, Solomon Krow Jr, Sydney Victor, Nana Yaw, Kwabena Boateng, Aaron Harry, Emmanuel Kelvin, and Emmanuel Annor, brother-in- laws, Kofi Boateng Akosah, Samuel Buadu, Patrick Akosah, Lancelot Ashun, and Henry Abban, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
