Implement reports and we’ll call off strike – CLOGSAG

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) insist that the association will only call off its strike if government begins implementing the recommendations on reports reached between the leadership of the association and Employment and Labour Ministry.

It laughed off threats by the sector Minister Haruna Iddrisu to withhold salaries of members if it fails to call off the strike government describes as illegal.

“We are not prepared to return to work until our grievances are fully addressed……We have directed all our members to stay at home until our requests are granted”, he warned

Mr. Asamoah Dwomoh head of Complaints and grievances at CLOGSAG on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Luther King Kwame Adinkra, indicated that the Executive Committee has no mandate call off the strike.

He revealed that CLOGSAG council made up of representatives from the 10 regions of the north is the only mandated body to give such a directive.

He warned Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) as well as Coordinator Directors to desist from victimizing members who are adhering to calls by the leadership of CLOGSAG to embark on the strike.

“It is within their rights to go on strike. No DCE or Coordinating Director must victimize CLOSAG members”, he added.
