Impending Eclipse offers spiritual messages

Hohoe, March 27, GNA – Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, has said the eclipse of the sun on Wednesday would be momentous to Islam because it signified the end time.

Sheikh Sharubutu, who spoke to the GNA in an interview, said several suras in the Quran attested to this event as a reminder to the Muslim faithful that when the celestial bodies especially the moon places itself between the sun and the earth it depicted the end time.

He therefore urged Muslims to make a sober reflection of the event and ask for Allah’s guidance and protection.

The National Chief Imam appealed to Muslims to renew their faith and be guided by the principles of Islam including thanksgiving and sacrifice so that together on that day “we shall all become beneficiaries.”
