I’m the best person for the job – PPP Veep

The newly named running mate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Brigitte Dzogbenuku, has expressed gratitude to the PPP fraternity for the honour done her, stating she is absolutely fit for the job.

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom on Thursday announced Ms Dzogbenuku, the 1991 Miss Ghana winner as his running mate for the 2016 general elections.

In an interview with Starr Chat’s Bola Ray Wednesday the business magnate promised to pick a running mate that will give meaning to his ‘all inclusive’ and ‘Ghana first agenda’.

Addressing the party, Ms Dzogbenuku took a cue from the current British Prime Minister Theresa May, saying “…I’m a Ghanaian and I think I’m the best person to hold this position,” to the delight of the teeming PPP members.

She said her flag bearer is the only person who can solve Ghana’s economic woes, calling on Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in this year’s elections.

Ghanaian electorate, she added, deserved better and they should stand up and be counted chipping that “…not only by voting, but also by being heard and compelling all those who want change to vote for the PPP.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Nduom has also predicted that the 2016 elections will go into a runoff, where he will be part of the top two.

“Absolutely, [the elections] will go into a second round. I am sure that if we get our things right there will be three pots and we will figure out at the end which three would move up.

“The NDC doesn’t have the good will to win…the NPP is also not as strongly organized to be able to say we are going to go and do our one shot deal, we know we have to grow, we know we have to work so we are working so we can compete,” Dr. Nduom noted.

He continued by making mockery of the performance of President John Dramani Mahma, accusing him of crippling the Ghanaian economy.

He told Starr Chat that the hardships in the country are simply beyond “President Mahama, the Communicator.”
