“I’m Still Processing Everything” – Burna Boy speaks after converting from Christianity to Islam

Grammy-winning Nigerian star Burna Boy has opened up about his battle with faith, admitting that despite converting from Christianity to Islam, he still feels spiritually unsettled.

In an interview with streamer Playboymax, the Afrofusion singer shared that his lifelong quest for understanding has left him even more confused.

“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.

Burna Boy explained that his decision to explore different religions came from a genuine desire to find meaning beyond what he was born into. He added that the more he reads religious texts, the harder it becomes to find the answers he’s looking for.

“Of course, because that’s what your parents believe and that’s what you were born into,” he said, reflecting on how upbringing often shapes people’s faith.

The “City Boys” hitmaker noted that his spiritual journey is still ongoing, describing it as a personal search for truth and clarity.

Burna Boy’s comments come months after another Nigerian singer, 9ice, revealed that he converted from Islam to the Ifa religion following what he called a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months.
