I’m ready to serve Mahama – Spio-Garbrah

Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah has made it clear that he has no intention of contesting President John Dramani Mahama but instead is ever prepared to serve in his administration to contribute to the Better Ghana Agenda mantra.

The former communications minister under former President Jerry John Rawlings expressed his readiness to serve his country just a day after it emerged from the corridors of power that the president has indicated a wish in appointing him to the presidency.

His personal spokesperson Kweku Ampah revealed this in an interview on Peace FM yesterday, assuring that the former minister will contribute to the success of the nation when appointed by the President.

According to him, the astute politician was the only one who served not fewer than three portfolios in government in the communication, education, mines and mineral resources ministries.

He noted that it was during his tenure as the minister of education under the Jerry Rawlings administration that the GETFUND was introduced.

Mr. Ampah said that if the astute politician is called upon to join the ruling government, he will make effective change and contribute to the development of the country.

“Doctor has the experience, and is ready to champion the cause of effective development, he is fully prepared to work under any condition and under anybody; he has love for the country and when he joins I know he will contribute to the success of the country,’’ he revealed.

Mr. Garbrah is an international relations expert, church administrator and an investment analyst and member of human resources review and remuneration committee and member of investment and strategy committee of Telkom SA SOC Limited.
