I’m not perturbed about NDC’s short-sighted vision – Nana Addo

The Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) has hit back at critics who are shooting down his plans to set up factories across the 216 districts in the country, describing them as short-sighted in vision.

Notwithstanding the barrage of attacks hurled at him, Nana Addo said he’s committed to implementing every plan on the table concerning the move when he wins the 2016 elections.

The NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is promising that his government would establish a factory in each of the 216 districts across the country as part of plans to industrialise the economy and check the exodus of locals into the cities and urban areas.

However, the plan by Nana Addo has been downplayed especially by government officials who have said the idea by the largest opposition leader is not tenable.

But addressing Muslims in the Effutu constituency as part of his Central regional campaign tour, Nana Addo stressed that such attacks from government functionaries are needless.

“Anytime we introduce a new idea, this is what we normally receive from the ruling NDC government, as they always kick against my policy programmes but in the long run they make a u-turn and implement them. Imagine when we decided to introduce the Free SHS programme, the Mahama-led administration said it was not feasible, but eventually, they attempted doing it but failed.

“Even when we said we were going to develop the three regions up north through the Northern Development Authority, the NDC spoke against it vehemently and in the end, they decided to take it up but failed woefully in implementing this. I’m not perturbed about their discouragement at all. What I’m saying is we should be focused and have leaders who should be ready with ideas that will improve the lives of Ghanaians.”
