Hon Alban Sumanu Kingsford Bagbin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has said that he would never apologise for his recent diplomatic faux pas.
He, therefore, described as misleading and unfounded, a recent publication that he had rendered an apology for what he said in Kumasi, during the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto.
In an interview, broadcast on Otec FM Anopa Bosuo Morning Show yesterday, August 25, the Nadowli North Member of Parliament (MP), made it clear that if he had, indeed, broken any Oath of Secrecy, then he is thinking whether to apologise or not.
According to him, if the apology becomes imperative, he will apologise to President Laurent Gbagbo of Cote d?Ivoire and President Blaise Campaore of Burkina Faso, and the people of Ghana but not to President J.A. Kufuor of the Republic of Ghana, who is also Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to Hon. Bagbin, since his interview on Joy FM?s Front-Page, on Friday, August 6, 2004, at which he said Presidents Laurent Gbagbo and Blaise Campaore of Cote d?Ivoire and Burkina Faso, respectively, have personally told him that they had lost confidence in president Kufuor, in the way he was handling Cote d?Ivoire crisis, he had not spoken to any newspaper, whatsoever.
Meanwhile, according to Hon. Alban Bagbin the NPP is chasing him out of Parliament, as if ?I?m an offensive goat.? He asserted that the bad news for NPP is that NDC will win the election. ?The NDC?s victory in the December poll, will be resounding,? adding, ?we won?t cheat, we will sweep the polls?, he stated optimistically.
