?I?m Fed Up As MP, My People Are Lazy? -MP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, has stated that he has virtually given up as Parliamentary representative for his area and fed up as MP for the area. He described his constituents as ?lazy people,? indicating in his statement that some of his constituents were frustrating his efforts at developing the area.

Hon. Agyepong was infuriated by the behavior of the people at the Assin Fosu after several efforts he made at providing the area with water closets (WC) projects proved futile. He said he contacted leaders of the town to allocate a suitable land for the construction of an eight-seater WC, but no suitable land was provided.

Hon Agyepong said other constituencies had benefited from similar projects he initiated and funded and said he was tired as the MP for the area. The vociferous NPP MP, who has become acclaimed for his defence of his party on air, was this time reacting to comments made on Radio Central last Saturday morning.

Some group of people from Assin Fosu in his constituency raised an issue on the station that the town lacked public places of convenience. This generated a lot of public sympathy as callers into the programme called for urgent attention to the area to help forestall the problem.

Getting to the end of the programme, the MP, who explained he was driving to Obuasi at the time and had tuned into the station, registered his displeasure at the direction the discussion was moving to and phoned in himself to clarify some issues.
