Yakubu Musah, a 24- year-old illegal miner who was caught gaming and betting at the Tarkwa main lorry station has been sentenced to six months imprisonment in hard labour by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.

He pleaded guilty but his accomplice, Iddrisu Dauda, 24, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded into prison custody to re-appear on October 13.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr. Justice Obeng Asante that on September 26 police officers were detailed for night patrols within the Municipality.

The officers saw Dauda and Musah gaming and betting at the Tarkwa main lorry station and were arrested.
