Illegal gun manufacturers arrested in Ashanti Region

Four blacksmiths suspected of manufacturing guns in the Adansi area have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

Police raided their workshops as a step to curtailing the production of illegal weapons, which are often found in unauthorized hands and who use them for various crimes.

Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening, announced the arrest at a press conference on Friday.

Luv News’ Erastus Asare Donkor reports that the police were able to retrieve 42 single barrel guns, a number of ammunition, gun-manufacturing machines, four locally made pistols, two foreign made revolvers, among other arsenals.
