Illegal fishermen arrested at Nyanyano

The Gomoa Nyanyano Fishing Committee has arrested 34 persons for illegally fishing along the coast of Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region and handed over to the Police.

Nana Aful Awotwe, the Chief Fisherman of Gomoa Nyanyano, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, warned fishermen who practice illegal fishing along the coast of the area to desist from the act.

He said anyone found in the act would be arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.

Nana Awotwe advised fishermen to avoid such unlawful acts and to help bring sanity into the fishing industry.
