I?ll Sell Kufuor?s Limo To Educate Ghanaians

The leader of People?s National Convention, Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama has described the Osu Castle where the presidency is situation, as a symbol of colonialism.

For that matter, Dr. Mahama intimated that should he become president, his office would be operated from the Flagstaff House at 37, as former President Kwame Nkrumah did.

Dr. Mahama further said he will sell the Mercedes Benz limousine car President Kufuor is driving and use the proceeds to fund the education of Ghanaian children.

Speaking on Peace FMs Morning show ?Kokrokoo? on Wednesday, 28th April, 2004, Dr. Mahama renewed his attack on the NPP government accusing hem of corruption and lack of effective governance.

The PNC leader therefore urged Ghanaians to vote massively for he and his party, which is a yet to go to congress, to elect a Flagbearer to contest the December elections. He repeated his promise to make education free for all from primary to senor secondary level as was done by the CPP government under the leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah from 1957 to 1966.

The PNC leader stated that corruption has denied the people of the country the right to enjoy good living. Dr. Mahama is seeking re-election from his party delegates to lead the party for the third consecutive time, during the party?s forthcoming congress scheduled to take place between May 28 and 29. He will be contesting the position with maverick politician Charles Kofi Wayo who defected from his ruling NPP to join the PNC.

Dr. Mahama described Mr. Wayo as a practical man, and has pledged his full support for Mr. Wayo should he emerge as the PNCs Flagbearer.
