I’ll pray for NDC to succeed – Kofi Jumah

“God, please don’t let 2013 come again. It was a rough year. I didn’t get even one Christmas card; 2012 I got over 100, even in opposition. Nobody gave me a single Christmas gift.

“2013 was very, very rough. NDC people know I don’t like them but because of the hardships of 2013, I will pray for the NDC in 2014 for them to succeed” Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asokwa and outspoken critic of the John Mahama-led NDC government has pledged.

Mr Jumah, who gave the promise while commenting on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show of Thursday January 8, 2014, said conditions were so bad that he could not go to his native Kumasi to celebrate the Christmas because he could not have met the demands of friends and relatives.

The former Asokwa MP, whose less than complimentary views of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Mahama are well-known, says the hardships he went through last year had convinced him to support the government in prayer for a better 2014 for all Ghanaians.

“2013 was rough. I pray it doesn’t come again. It was bad o!” he exclaimed to the surprise of both the host, Captain Smart, and his fellow panelist Richard Acheampong, NDC legislator for Bia East.

He, however, expressed worry at the contents of the 2014 budget statement, insisting it would rather worsen the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Mr. Acheampong welcomed Kofi Jumah’s offer of prayers and urged Ghanaians to bear with the government while it works to deliver on the promise of a Better Ghana.
