I’ll lead BNI to where contaminated fuel is sold – Duncan Amoah

The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPECGH), Duncan Amoah says he is ready to lead officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to some parts of Ashaiman and Tema where contaminated fuel is being sold in broad day light on table tops.

According to him, the contaminated fuel is sold in small bottles and containers and highly patronised by motorists.

Duncan Amoah who feels vindicated after his allegations against the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) company limited that was rubbished by the BNI indicating there has been no sale of contaminated fuel said he is ever ready to lead them to inspect the lorry stations.

He further called on the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to inspect the Tema township since there are a lot of fuel yards where fuel is sold illegally indicating that illegal sale of fuel contaminated fuel in Tema and its enclaves is very common and therefore charged them to storm the area.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey is calling on the EPA to quickly intervene and clear off all contaminated fuel sold in Ashaiman since it poses a serious threat to the lives of residents.

According to the MP, Ashiaman is a highly populated area and the illegal and reckless sale of such fuel if not stopped can cause explosion.

The MP was reacting to reports by the media and COPECGH that contaminated fuel is being sold on table tops in his constituency.

He said the act is illegal, therefore, he is ready to support the EPA to clear them off the market.
