I Have A Vision (IHAV) Foundation, a youth led advocacy group that seeks to inspire and challenge youth across Africa for change, appoints new Executives for the years 2013 to 2015.
The new executive council was appointed by the Executive Director in consultation with the board of trustees after meticulous assessment. The new executive council members include the following;
Executive Director/President- Christabel Ofori
Vice President (internal affairs)-Bekimpilo Ndlovu
Vice President (external affairs)-Christopher Chakwana
Director of I.T-Tony Asamoah-Boadu
Director of HR and Recruitment (internal) – Sheila Aboagye
Director of HR and Recruitment (External)-Selase Akabuo
Director of partnership and sponsorship-Portia Oppong Baffour
Director of International Relations-Mimi Koranteng
Director of Budget and Finance – Wisdom Akakpo
Director Media Relations & Event coordination- Steve Kubate Salifu
Country Directors- Ghana- Samuel Darko, Zimbabwe-Gary Wilson Binha, Kenya-David Thuo, and Tanzania-Fredrick Paul Maziku.
The new Directors/ Executive Council members constitutes the Management Board of IHAV; they are stakeholders in IHAV foundation and are expected among other things, to work to ensure that the Organization’s mission and vision is realized, and work closely with the Board of Trustees to arrive at clear-cut strategies and frameworks for the organization. They are also to establish policies and guidelines for operations, which stem from the organization’s mission and goals and provide a direction for the staff in managing the day-to-day activities. They are to serve a two year term in office and upon satisfactory performance their appointment will be renewed once.
In an interview with the executive Director/President of the foundation, Christabel Ofori, she indicated that “the vision of the foundation is to effect a positive change in attitude and an assertiveness to act among the youth so that they work collaboratively to create and provide innovative and sustainable solutions to Africa’s challenges through social entrepreneurship.”
She further noted that, “We want to enhance innovation and creativity among the youth, to inspire, challenge and empower them to ACT on their visions for change.”
“The future of IHAV depends on our joint initiative, commitment, cooperation and contribution to the organization’s objectives. IHAV will attempt to reduce youth unemployment and improve quality of life in our communities and countries by cross-partnerships, healthy collaborations, increased social Entrepreneurship and creativity” she added.
IHAV calls on all stakeholders and the general public across Africa to partner with IHAV and its new executives to provide an inspiring, entrepreneurial-nurturing and interactive environment that will bring together passionate, outstanding and innovative African youth visionaries, inspiring business leaders and change champions to dialogue and come up with social entrepreneurial ideas that addresses the needs in our societies, whiles creating employment.
Since its inception in 2012, IHAV has held the successful IHAV project conference 2013 under the theme “Africa’s Youth, Agriculture and Entrepreneurship” which brought together a 100 youth from across 8 countries in Africa, and prominent speakers such as Dr Abu Sakara, Mr Charles Sam, and Mr Philip Abayori, where they deliberated on issues critical to the development of the youth in Africa and had the participants work in groups to develop projects aimed at improving the quality of life in their societies.
IHAV has also led the advocacy towards building the capacity of the youth across Africa.
