Ieper City donates to Wa Hospital

WA, March 27, GNA -A three-member delegation from the City of Ieper in Belgium who are on a visit, has for the second time since Ieper forged sister city links with the Wa Municipality about three years ago, donated items worth 30 million cedis to the Wa Hospital. The items were made up of hospital beds, wheel chairs, orthopaedic equipment and surgical instruments.

Apart from the donation, the delegation accompanied by officials of the Municipal Assembly, toured the Children’s and Maternity Wards of the hospital and presented assorted items made up of toys, napkins, baby shoes and dresses and detergents to the inmates of those wards. Madam Veronic Lewllie, their spokesperson who is in charge of Peace and Development in Ieper, expressed the hope that the denotations would enhance health care delivery at the hospital.

She promised that more of such donations would be made and urged the hospital authorities to maintain items. Dr Jacob Abebrese, Medical Director of the Hospital, expressed his gratitude to the authorities from Ieper for their support for the hospital. 27 March 07
