IEA receives Millennium Excellence Award

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA – The Institute of Economic Affairs, (IEA) Ghana, has been was honoured as a distinguished recipient of the Millennium Excellence Awards. The Institute was awarded for its role in fostering good governance and multiparty democracy in Ghana and West Africa over the last twenty-one years.

It was among 29 institutions and personalities nominated for the awards held every five years. The ceremony was the third in the series of the awards which are presented every five years. The award consisting of a framed citation, a plaque and a gold brooch, were received by the Executive Director of the IEA, Mrs Jean Mensa on behalf of the Institute.

Other recipients of the awards were the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), Mrs Angela Dwamena Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of the Ark Foundation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, a Cardio-thoracic Surgeon, Professor Kofi Awoonor, Chairman of the Council of State and Major General Henry Anyidoho.
