Ideal College donates to orphanage

The Remedial Department of the Sunyani Branch of Ideal College, on Tuesday presented assorted food items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to inmates at the Hanukah Children’s Home in Sunyani.

The forty-three inmates made up of 23 boys and 20 girls, received three bags of rice, bales of secondhand clothing, a bag of sugar, cartons of tomatoes, gallons of cooking oil, detergent, bags of gari and a sheep for their upkeep.

Nana Yaw Adu Worae III, a tutor of the college said the presentation was part of the institution’s social responsibility to support the needy and vulnerable in the society.

He advised some of the inmates preparing for the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination in November to concentrate on their books and avoid peers with questionable characters.

Mr Raphael Santah, Administrator at the home, thanked the donors for the gesture and appealed to the public to support the home in cash and in kind towards the proper upbringing of the inmates.
