I’d have quit NDC if Boateng contested Mahama

The National Organiser of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Adams, has said he would have resigned if the party had sold presidential nomination forms to Mr George Boateng, who expressed interest in challenging President John Mahama for the flagbearership slot of the Party.

President Mahama, unopposed, received 95 percent endorsement from the Party to lead them into the 2016 elections. More than one million NDC members voted for Mr Mahama in the primaries with 61,000 voting against him.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s political talk show “ekosii sen” on Thursday, Mr Adams said: “I would have resigned as national organiser if the NDC had sold forms to George Boateng.”

The 45-year-old Oyarifa Branch Youth Organiser of the NDC declared his intentions to contest President Mahama, but was denied the chance on grounds of insanity.

After the primaries, Mr Boateng told journalists that the 61,000 people who voted ‘NO’ against the President were his supporters.
