ICU holds May Day on Saturday

Accra, April 26, GNA – The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) would hold this year’s May Day celebration on Saturday April 30 instead of May 1, which falls on Sunday.

A statement signed by Mr Napoleon Kpoh, General Secretary of ICU said this year’s ICU’s celebration would come off with a float through the principal streets of Accra and it would later be crowned with an awards ceremony at the Trade Fair Centre at 0900 hours.

President John Agyekum Kufuor is expected to address the function and also present the May Day Award, the statement said. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Sustaining Ghanaian Industries -Employer/Union Collaboration.”
