ICU expresses condolence to NIB

Accra, Oct. 26, GNA – The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) on Wednesday expressed its condolences to the National Investment Bank (NIB) over the loss of four members of the Bank’s Professional and Managerial Staff Union (PMSU) in last Saturday night’s plane crash in Nigeria.

“We are saddened that the NIB with whom we have had a wonderful working relationship should be deprived of such highly motivated and skilful managers at a time they are most needed,” a statement signed by Mr Napoleon Kpoh, General Secretary said.

“In this moment of grief, the ICU expresses its support to the Management and members of the PMSU and declare its solidarity with the NIB members of the ICU and will do what is possible within its power to share in the grief in this time of pain and sorrow.” The ICU also expressed its sympathies to the families and friends of the late NIB staff.

More than 110 passengers and crew, at least eight of them Ghanaians, perished when a Bellview flight from Lagos to Abuja crashed shortly after take-off.
