ICT Education policy to be introduced soon

Accra, April 7, GNA- The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) would soon introduce an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Education Policy to guide the integration of ICT in Ghanaian Schools. In addition, training of trainers’ workshops on the use of the computer in education would soon take off at the National ICT and Science Resource Centre in Accra.

Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, the Sector Minister said this at the opening of a two-week computer workshop, for 42 students at the Afienya Youth Leadership Training Institute.

A statement issued by the MEYS on Wednesday and signed by Mr Dan Osman Mwin, Public Relations Officer said the students were from Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) and Ada Secondary School.

Mr Baah-Wiredu appealed to NGO’s, philanthropists and public-spirited persons to support the ICT rollout crusade. The statement said the programme geared towards equipping the youth was under the Human Resources Development of the Government.
