Sirigu (U/E), Dec. 15, GNA – The Senior Staff Association of the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR) has donated food items worth 600,000 cedis and a cash of 400,000 cedis to the Mother of Mercy Babies Home at Sirigu near Navrongo.

The items include two mini-bags of rice, one carton of key soap, loaves of bread, biscuits and watermelon.

Making the donation, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. J.M. Salifu, said the items were to help maintain the inmates of the orphanage, adding that the Association had in the past made similar donations to the Home.

He said the Association was dedicated to the welfare of orphans and other vulnerable groups in society.

Receiving the items the caretaker of the orphanage, Miss Grace Amoro, thanked the ICOUR senior staff for their generosity and urged other public spirited organisations and philanthropists to emulate the gesture.
