ICGC’s Destiny Summit called off due to Ebola

The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has cancelled its much-anticipated ‘Destiny Summit’ as a result of the deadly Ebola virus, which has so far claimed over 1,400 lives in West Africa.

General Overseer of the Church Dr Mensa Otabil announced the cancellation of the event to the congregation on Sunday, August 24.

The yearly programme had been scheduled to take place at the church’s main auditorium, Christ Temple, in Accra from November 5 – 7.

Among speakers invited were Dr Sam Chand, Dr Mike Murdock and Reverend Randy Morrison, all from the United States of America, and Ransford Obeng from Ghana.

It is unclear whether the decision to cancel the event is as a result of the moratorium placed on all international conferences in Ghana by government.

This is the first time a much-publicised programme of ICGC has been cancelled.

The Ebola disease has raised hackles in West African nations after Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria were hit.

Ghana is yet to record a case of the viral disease.
