ICGC to build hostel for Osu Children’s Home

Accra, Nov. 28, GNA – The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) on Monday cut the sod for the construction of a 1.12 billion-cedi boys hostel for the Osu Children’s Home in Accra.

The construction of the hostel followed a promise made by the Church to help to ease the accommodation problems faced at the Home and to provide facilities that would enhance the lives of the children and staff.

Dr Mensa Otabil, Senior Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, said the two-storey dormitory would house about 50 beds, toilet and bath, library, offices, dinning room, sick bay and a two-bedroom flat for a supervisor.

The project to be completed in seven months had an amount of 200 million cedis raised by members of ICGC as initial capital, Dr Otabil said.

The rest of the money would be raised from a charity concert this year and the Church’s Life Walk event and other fund-raising programme next year.

He said: “Seven months from now, with God being our help, I shall invite you all back to witness the inauguration of a beautiful building that will shape and influence the lives of these children and generations yet unborn.”
