Iced water dealers advised against child labour

Kumasi, Feb.24, GNA- The Ghana Iced Water/Miscellaneous Sellers Association, has appealed members not to allow children under 12 years to sell the product on the streets.

A statement issued by the General Secretary of the Association, Mr C.N. Amofa in Kumasi on Wednesday said the education of children should be the prime concern of all members and must therefore prevent their children from selling especially during school periods.

The statement said the official price for a bagged iced water popularly called ‘”panin de Panin”, is now 150 cedis and not 100 cedis and pleaded with the general public not to harass sellers over the new price. The increase was a result of production cost.
