ICC throws out Woyome’s petition

The International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has thrown out Mr Alfred Woyome’s petition concerning the GHS51 million judgment debt.

Mr Woyome was also slapped with a $5000 administrative charge.

A document to that effect sighted by ClassFMonline.com, read: “On 3 August 2017, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (“Courts”) decided that this arbitration will not proceed (Article 6(4)); and fixed the ICC administrative expense atUS$5,000 which is covered by the non-refundable payment already made by claimant.”

The embattled businessman petitioned the ICC over the GH51.2 million judgment debt wrongfully paid to him by the past National Democratic Congress (NDC) government which the Supreme Court has ordered him to refund to the state.

Dissatisfied with the ruling by the court, Mr Woyome resorted to the international body to determine the matter.
