Accra, July 2, GNA – The Reverend Dr. Oppong Adu Gyamfi, General Overseer of the International Charismatic Church (ICC), has inaugurated a GH¢ 250,000 Cathedral for the Narrow Gate branch of the Church at Banana Inn in Accra with a call on Ghanaians to contribute their quota to nation-building. “There are a lot of people who are pessimists and negative thinkers who believe that nothing good can come out of Ghana, but I want to encourage all of us that with the help of God, hard work, commitment and a focused vision, we are bound to succeed and make our nation the haven that we would want it to be,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Adu Gyamfi said in one’s attempt to build a family, society or even a nation, one would face opposition and challenges, but it would take endurance and discipline to succeed. He said as Ghanaians went to the polls, they must not allow their political differences to impact negatively on the nation’s current peace and tranquillity adding that an election should not be a period of bloodshed and intolerance.
Rev. Dr. Adu Gyamfi said Ghanaians, irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political affiliation must unite with a common purpose to ensure violence-free elections. “We have only one home as Ghanaians and we must protect it.”
In a welcoming address, the Resident Pastor, Rev. Asante Marfo-Ahenkora said it took the congregation almost seven years to put up the edifice “to provide love, joy, peace, acceptance and protection for the weary and rest for the heavy laden”.
He said ICC stood for integrity, character and charisma and it intended to uphold these principles and teach others as well to help build the community and nation to become a better place. Rev. Marfo-Ahenkora said the church would show love to the community by preaching God’s word which saved, healed and delivered from bondage.
