I will play a unifying role – Sowah

Mr Mohammed Adjei Sowah, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has pledged to provide a unifying leadership role and revive the spirit of self-help amongst the people within his jurisdiction.

This, he said, would enable the youth to play more responsible roles in the society.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the end of a special clean-up exercise held in various areas including Abossey Okai, Odorna and Agbogbloshie, Mr Sowah said his intention was to engage the inhabitants of the city to ensure that the right things are done.

In this regard, he said, sustained environmental and sanitation campaigns are needed to remind the people of the need to protect the environment.

The MCE also interacted with some of the Spare Parts Dealers and urged them to inform the authorities whenever they had concerns with regards to sanitation and their environment.

He said all illegal structures constructed on waterways would be demolished.
