I will not lie to Ghanaians-Prez Mahama

Ahead of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) organized presidential debate scheduled to take place at the Rabaj Hotel in Tamale in the Northern region, President John Mahama has stated that he will be honest and sincere to the good people of Ghana on the achievements of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and outline his vision for the next four years.

He said, since this is the first time a sitting president had agreed to participate in the IEA Presidential debate is looking forward to ‘’a very fruitful encounter and engagement. He intends to approach the debate with all honesty and sincerity and integrity. I will not hoodwink Ghanaians into voting for him by giving out promises I know cannot be achieved. I will be honest and faithful to the people of Ghana.’’

Meanwhile a Visit by Radio Gold reporter Samuel Ablordeppey to the debate site suggested that the venue is ready to host all four presidential candidates in this evenings encounter.

Meanwhile all four presidential candidates from the four major political parties are all present in Tamale preparing feverishly for the debate. The four are; presidential candidate for the NDC John Dramani Mahama, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Abu Sakara Foster of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) and Mr. Hassan Ayariga of the People’s National Convention (PNC).

Speaking to the media on President Mahama’s behalf his spokesperson John Jinapor said the president looks forward looks forward to a successful and fair debate.

‘’while defending our solid and enviable record, the president will also outline his vision for the next four years towards consolidating gains made as a government.

He hopes that the game will be fair and at the end of the day we will be deepening democracy for the people to make informed choices,’’ Abu Jinapor said.
