I will go to court to clear my name – Tony Aidoo charges

Beleaguered Head of the Policy Evaluation and Oversight Unit at the Presidency, Dr Tony Aidoo, has labelled accusations by a political pressure group, The People Must Know (PMK) that he fraudulently acquired a piece of land and vehicle belonging to the state as barbaric, malicious and concocted.

Reacting to the charge on Asempa Fm in Accra Wednesday, the outspoken government official maintained that the move was a knee-jerk reaction by the group to rekindle the despondency in the NPP, and affirmed that he would proceed to court to clear his name.

He explained: “I saw an advertisement in the Ghanaian Times and I decided to follow it up. What I did was not corruption… so it is very clear that these people are peddling falsehood just to tarnish my image, I will go to court.”

Answering further queries from the host, Dr. Aidoo argued: “it is only the court that will be able to clear me on this issue.”

“I have lots of documents and I will bring them out for Ghanaians and the court to decide on the matter,” he humbly submitted.

The group had earlier described his actions as “looting” of state assets, and therefore, urged Ghanaians to vote the NDC out in the December 7 polls.
