I Will Clear My Name First Says Josiah Aryeh

The embattled former General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Nii Armah Josiah Aryeh, says he will clear his name first of all and then take a decision on whether to stay with the party or not.

In an interview with CITI fm, Dr Aryeh who is presently being investigated by the party for his alleged financial involvement with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before last year’s election said, to leave the party without setting the records straight will not auger well for his hard earned image, adding that he will make the decision at the right time. Dr Aryeh said if no decision is taken on the case involving him and some functionaries of the NPP by the party before congress in September this year, he will publish a book on the facts of the case as available to him and accounts of his three years experience with the NDC as a General Secretary.

He was disappointed about the way the three-man Investigative Committee headed by Minority Leader, Hon. Alban Bagbin had handled the case so far.

Meanwhile, a member of the three-man Investigative Committee, Lawyer Kwaku Baah says Dr Aryeh cannot dictate the pace of their investigation and that the party can even suspend him for six months without answering any questions.
