I wasn’t in Kintampo – Mahama

Former President John Mahama has rubbished media reports that he was in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region on Monday to commiserate with the families of the accident victims.

A section of the media is reporting that he has visited the bereaved families with pictures to accompany the story.

However, it has been established that those pictures were taken last year when he visited accident victims in the same vicinity when he was president.

The news of his purported visit has taken centre stage on social media as to whether he actually visited or some elements are “playing propaganda.”

Mahama took to Twitter to cure the confusion.

CLOSURE

Meanwhile, the Waterfalls has been closed down indefinitely following the passing of 19 students after a freak tree accident over the weekend.

According to the Minister of Tourism, Catherine Afeku, the closure is to enable the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and other stakeholders embark on a “comprehensive safety audit” of the facility.
