I was shocked by the death of David Lamptey-President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday expressed shock at the death of David Lamptey a Ghanaian Politician and Businessman, which occurred almost two weeks ago.

He said:”His death is not a lost to only his family members, but also a great lost to members of the National Democratic Congress, the business community and all Ghanaians.”

President Mahama was speaking when family members of the late Businessman called on him at the Castle to officially inform his death.

The late Lamptey owned many companies including SIDALCO Fertiliser Company and XYZ FM.

He was once a member of Parliament for Osu Clottey.

President Mahama called on Ghanaians to pray for the soul of the NDC financier, who was generous and kind to people he encountered.

Mr Joseph Coleman who led the delegation said the funeral of Mr Lamptey had been fixed for February 1- February 2, 2013.
