I was grilled by Gbevlo – Boateng Gyan

The National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has revealed that he was thoroughly investigated by the BNI when the leaked tape regarding his alleged attempt to influence the recruitment of some members of the NDC into the National Security popped up .

According to him, although he is a key member of the ruling party, Lieutenant Colonel Gbevlo Lartey, who was head of the National Security at the time, did not spare the opportunity at grilling him.

“For two solid weeks, I was reporting to the BNI on daily basis. I will go there in the morning and leave after 7 pm daily. I was interrogated by a panel of five individuals,” he told Asempa FM on Tuesday.

Boateng Gyan was in September 2012, implicated in a secret tape recording in which he is said to have promised party loyalists soft loans and National Security identification cards to enable them undertake some jobs during the 2012 elections.

He admitted the voice on the tape was his but insists parts of the recording was doctored.
